RULES FOR VENTARI’S CORNER

Guildwarsguru.com (GwG) reserves the right to issue warnings, suspend or terminate the registration of users who refuse to comply with these rules. GwG may modify these rules from time to time and such modifications will be effective and binding as soon as they are posted unless another date is specified.

Rules on Bumping

Any post by you in your own thread is considered a bump.
Upon making your new thread, you must wait 24 hours or more before posting again in that thread.
Do Not Bump and Delete. Moderators can see deleted posts clear as day.
When posting a bump, you may add any text you wish.
You are free to edit bumps just like your original post.
Once you have submitted a new post, the 24 hour policy now applies to this post.
If you discover you have accidentally bumped early:
immediately edit the top post as you would when closing it (see: "Before starting a new thread")
We are not unreasonable, if we can see you immediately closed the thread, you can avoid a ban.
You must wait 24 hours before you post a new thread.

Bumping to Close a Thread

Do not bump your thread to the front to say "closed", this will result in a ban.
If you need a thread closed the top post, delete all the content and enter: "*** CLOSED BY SELLER ***"

Multiple Active Threads

You may have only one open thread per Ventari's section at any given time:
Price Check, Buy, Giveaways, Sell, High End, and Services.
You can always click at the bottom of your posts to: ADD new items.

Multiple Threads within 24-hours

Any new thread posted in the same section within 24-hours of a previous thread is considered a violation. Make sure you wait 24 hours from the last time you posted on your older thread before you open a new one.

Non-Bid Violations

Post a bid or do not post.
Advice, questions and comments should be done via private message, ingame whispers, or email.
Any post that does not contain a legitimate bid is considered to be a non-bid post.
The posting of a bid to make your conversation within a thread “legitimate” will not be tolerated and may at the moderator's discretion result in a ban
In short: post your bid, your IGN and contact information and nothing else or you risk a ban

Improper Listing

Listing a thread in the wrong section will result in a ban!

Which Forum to Post In:
Price Check - Here Price Guides and dedicated Price Check Guru's can help you assess your items value.
Buy - Post any items that you are looking to buy in this forum.
Sell - This section is for selling items or "packages" with a value below 100k/100,000 gold each.
High End - This section is for selling items or "packages" with a value above 100k/100,000 gold each.
Services - This section is for offering or obtaining paid services. These may include: farming, running, ID'ing items, etc
Giveaways - This section is for offering free items or services, not for asking or begging. These may include: farming, running, ID'ing items, etc
You are only allowed to advertise a particular item in one location on this site, either Sell, High End, or Auctions
You are allowed to post a link to any other threads you may have in Ventari.
Links to Guild Wars Guru Auctions. You are not allowed to accept bids in the sell forums but can inform potential buyers by linking to your auction.

Thread Titles

You are allowed only one "divider" symbol between items/categories and none at the beginning of your title.
The only symbols allowed at the end of the title is a single "!" or "."
Keep it simple and to the point
You are not allowed to use adjectives in your thread title like:
- "Godly", "Wicked", "Awesome", "The Best"

Maintaining and Closing Threads

Closing Threads:
Use on the top post, delete all the content and enter: "*** CLOSED BY SELLER ***"
If you fail to do this, your thread may be viewed as open and result in a ban if you open another thread in the same section.
- Remember: Do not bump your thread to the front to say "closed", this will result in a ban.
Thread Maintenance
- You are allowed to delete old bumps from your thread (How: see under "Double Posts").
- When you delete old bumps, type "thread cleaning" as reason.
- Your last bump must always remain visible
- Make sure to keep your top post updated. As you sell items and receive offers, update your top post so potential buyers can see the relevant information.

Alternate Accounts

You are not allowed to use multiple accounts to gain any kind of advantage:
- Shill Bidding: Bidding/bumping in your own thread using an alternate account.
- Using another account to post anywhere in GWG while banned.
- Multiple Accounts Posting: The normal rule of one thread per forum section applies across all your accounts. Not per account
Any violation will result in all alternate accounts being closed permanently and a lengthy ban (1-4 weeks) to the primary account (the one with the most posts)
Users who share a computer or IP are easily misinterpreted as being a single user with alternate accounts.
If you share a computer or IP with another GWG user, please inform a member of the Ventari's staff. Remember to add both your GWG user names.
If you do not ensure we have this information, you risk having your threads closed and your accounts sanctioned.
Under no circumstances can people who share a computer or IP post in each others threads.

Illegal trades

The following may not be traded or sold:
Third party software that interact with the game.
Ingame items transported to parts of the game where they don’t belong through glitches or other violations of the EULA.
Physical real world items or money.
Character builds, written game information, or any other derivative works.
GW accounts, CD keys and login details.
"lottery" tickets or other similar "chances to win".
You are only allowed to trade items you have on your character. If you are selling an item on behalf of another user, you must have the item on your account.
You are never allowed the trade on behalf of a user who's GWG account is currently banned.

Other Violations

Recruiting - Do not attempt to recruit guild members. There is a section for this: Guild Connections.
Links - Do not post links to other sites in your thread. Exceptions:
- direct URL or IMG link to a picture of the items you are selling.
- Direct link to item descriptions or item pictures hosted by the official or unofficial Wiki.
- Links to Guild Wars Guru Auction. You are not allowed to accept bids in the sell forums but can inform potential buyers by linking to your auction.
Redirecting - Do not redirect potential buyers to other sites in order to conclude transactions.
Heavy Images - If we deem a picture is too heavy, we will remove the IMG tag and replace it with URL, or close the thread.
Do not post in: Family members, roommates, guild mates, and employees threads. Even if your sole intent is to purchase the item. Contact them through PM or whisper if you wish to buy their offered items.
Fake trades - we have seen items posted for sale, that did not exist. For this reason, we retain the right to close threads and request visual confirmation of the item ingame. If such proof is not offered, the item cannot be offered up for trade again on GWG.
Do not post in old threads: If a thread has not been edited or bumped by the user who posted it for a month or more, it is safe to assume he has abandoned it! Posting in such a thread will likely serve no purpose except pushing another user's new and active thread off page one. If you think there's is still a chance the user could be interested in selling/buying the items listed, feel free to contact him through PM or ingame whisper. Posting in such threads often might get you banned.

Service Threads

Feedback - You may only post service feedback in a thread after you have obtained the service. Edit the post where you requested the service and add your feedback there, leaving your original request intact. DO NOT write a new post, for it will be considered a NON BID.

We reserve the right to delete/close threads for other reasons than those listed here. If you find your thread was deleted without reason, PMa moderator for the reasons why.

When bidding

Post your offer clearly
- so it cannot be misunderstood, what and how much you offer.
Clearly state what item you are bidding on
- so it cannot be mistaken, either refer to the item's number or name.
Make sure seller has your IGN so he can contact you ingame
- either list it in your User Info or write it in your post.
- alternately you can send it to seller in a PM.
If you post another bid for an item- (after your first offer was outbid)
- make a new post, do not edit you old one.
- this way the highest bid for an item is always in the newest post
- and the threads generating the most bids gets their due attention

Double Posts

these are to be deleted by the user. To delete a post:
- use
- choose the "Delete" option
- choose the "Delete Message" option (enter reason for deleting) and finally
- choose "Delete this Message"

If you have violated guidelines

Your thread will be locked and you will be banned for a period of time.
Your original post will be replaced by the moderator's stamp listing an explanation of your violation
It is not possible to retrieve or restore your original post's data once it has been replaced. Make sure you have a copy of the text for future use.

Mini-Bans

We have adopted a zero tolerance policy for violators of the Ventari's Corner Forum Rules.
Due to the extent of rule-breaking in these forums, we punish all violations without exception
We feel that this approach is needed to ensure that Ventari's Corner remains a fair and pleasant trading environment for all rule abiding users
Our intent is to ensure that the reason for any ban is clearlycommunicated on the login screen.
The length of a ban is determined by:
- The violator's number of posts on the forum (newcomers get shorter bans than people who should know better).
- The nature of the violation.
- The violator's previous "record".
In other words, if users continue to ignore the rules, they will be facing longer bans.

Reporting a Violation

Please don't hesitate to use the report feature: located at the bottom left of each post.

Guild Wars Guru and the Mention of Scammers

Guild Wars Guru is NOT responsible for what goes on in game.
We can NOT verify what goes on ingame.
Evidence CAN be altered (we have seen this in the past).

We hope you can all understand the position we have to take on this. The proof is only available on the side of the Arenanet servers.

If You Have Been Scammed

1. Report it Here
2. If the scammer claimed to be a GWG staff member, send a PM (do not make a post) to Inde.
Include relevant screen shots, IGNs, and information.

Any posts or threads relating to scams will be edited, closed, and/or deleted.

Guild Wars Guru Staff Do Not Mediate Trades

Do not under any circumstances participate in trades mediated by GwG "moderators". The trade as such is BOGUS.
GWG Moderators trade under the same guidelines as everyone else both here and ingame, trade with them the same way you would everybody else.

C/O = Current Offer (the highest amount offered so far)
